Castello di Magona was built during the first decade of the 16th century and became the residence of Leopold II, Grand Duke of Tuscany, during the reclamation of the Maremma land.

From the North:
If you are arriving from the north, from Pisa proceed along the SS1 Aurelia in the direction of Grosseto/Rome. Exit at "San Vincenzo Sud". Proceed towards Campiglia Marittima. On reaching this medieval town, descend in the direction of Venturina. After about 2 KMs of the left, you will reach Castello di Magona.

From the South:
If you are arriving from the south, take the SS1 Aurelia in the direction of Livorno. Exit at "San Vincenzo Sud". Proceed towards Campiglia Marittima. On reaching this medieval town, descend in the direction of Venturina. After about 2 kms of the left, you will reach Castello di Magona.
